A LOT OF OIL

Is all of this oil being squeezed out of sedimentary rocks???

One possible cure (aside from fire) Sphingomonas is an all natural oil degrading bacteria (image source is KACC)

Another possible solution is to use a few hydrogen bombs (this one might also work on the mid-oceanic trash heaps too)

Atomic Bomb - Free videos are just a click away

Note: More mutations due to radiation could lead to faster evolution of oil consuming bacteria.

WD-40 - Universal Organic Solvent?

WD-40 is the universal organic solvent....I'll bet inorganic life could evolve on a planet that is 2/3 covered by the stuff. Simply great for getting the stickers off the back of ceramic dishes and such.....Hmmm, I wonder if WD-40 will be the necessary ingredient for nanorobots to evolve into macrobots? Perhaps WD-40 is what astronomers really should be looking for, not water. Also, less chance of an inorganic WD-40 based species coming to Earth and stealing all our water.
